For the athletes of the Russian National Team, the season begins with Test Skating in September, where the new programs for the 2025–2026 season are presented.
This event is broadcast by TV Channel One for 2 days in prime time. At least 2.5 hours of coverage are planned in the federal broadcast of Channel One. The full broadcast of all competitions is available on 1tv.ru.

Russian figure skating championship is the most important and major competition of the year
It is the annual largest and most important figure skating competition among Russian figure skaters. All members of the Russian National Team compete in men's and ladie's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing. Skaters who have competed in tournaments under the Masters of Sports program based on the amount of points scored at the Grand Prix of Russia are allowed to participate in the Russian Figure Skating Championships.
